Silfluo LS-M304 is an acryloxy-functional silane, chemically identified as 3-acryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane.

The acryloxy group participates in free-radical polymerization, including UV, EB, and peroxide curing mechanisms. The trimethoxysilyl group hydrolyzes to form silanols, which condense with hydroxylated inorganic surfaces like glass, silica, and metal oxides.

Compared to methacryloxy silanes, the acrylate functionality generally exhibits a faster free-radical reaction rate. It functions as an adhesion promoter, coupling agent, and reactive diluent in radical-curing resin systems.

Applications of LS-M304 (3-Acryloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane

1. UV and EB curable coatings: Used as an adhesion promoter and reactive additive in radiation-curable coatings and inks to crosslink with the resin matrix.

2. Fiber-optic coatings: Used in UV-curable optical fiber coatings to couple the primary acrylate coating layer to the silica glass core.

3. Artificial marble and engineered stone: Used to treat silica, quartz, and ATH fillers in unsaturated polyester or acrylic resin matrices.

4. Composite materials: Used as a coupling agent in radical-curing composites (unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester) to bond glass fibers or mineral fillers to the polymer.

5. Adhesives and sealants: Used as an adhesion promoter in acrylic and UV-curable adhesives for bonding to glass, metal, and mineral substrates.
