LS-OL320 N-Octyltriethoxysilane Oligomer
Silfluo LS-OL320 is an oligomeric N-octyltriethoxysilane hydrolysate, a pre-condensed octylsilane oligomer.
The product consists of partially condensed octylsiloxane units with residual ethoxy groups, formed by controlled hydrolysis and condensation of octyltriethoxysilane monomer.
The oligomeric structure reduces vapor pressure and flash point relative to the monomeric silane; residual ethoxy groups hydrolyze on substrate contact, releasing ethanol rather than methanol.
The C8 octyl chains provide hydrophobic character on treated porous inorganic surfaces; the siloxane backbone anchors to substrate hydroxyl groups.
Used as penetrating water repellent for construction and masonry substrates, and as surface treatment agent for inorganic fillers and pigments.
