LS-OL310 N-Octyltrimethoxysilane Oligomer
Silfluo LS-OL310 is an oligomeric N-octyltrimethoxysilane hydrolysate, a pre-condensed octylsilane oligomer.
The product consists of partially condensed octylsiloxane units with residual methoxy groups, formed by controlled hydrolysis and condensation of octyltrimethoxysilane monomer.
The oligomeric structure reduces vapor pressure and methanol emission relative to the monomeric silane; residual methoxy groups remain available for further condensation on substrate contact.
The C8 octyl chains provide hydrophobic character on treated porous inorganic surfaces; the siloxane backbone anchors to substrate hydroxyl groups.
Used as penetrating water repellent for construction and masonry substrates, hydrophobic additive in exterior coatings, and surface modifier for glass, ceramic, and textile applications.
